.: About the Artist :.
Born in Warsaw is the granduate of the Architecture Department at Politechnika Warszawska and a participant of post-graduate studies at the department of Interiors Architecture at ASP in Warsaw at the studio of professor Irena Wilczyńska.
She has been a member of ZPAP (Polish Artists' Association) since 1973.
Her painting includes the following categories: oil painting, pastel drawing, water-colour painting and gouache.
She is trying to reflect the same impressions by means of newer and newer techniques. They are usually traditional techniques, the simplest ones: oil paints, pastels, distemper, drawing-pen dipped in Indian ink. She is intrigued by the very moment of emerging of a vivid sign, where water-colour seems to be the most graceful technique. Recently, she has been trying to achieve a similar effect by using pastel technique. In illustration, she does not forget that children are so sensitive to colour.
She has been awarded several prizes:
the prize for illustrations in a poetry volume by Alicja Patey - Grabowska entitled "Lullaby" in 1979;
the award for "Water-colour paintings from the Vistula River" Włocławek'95;
the award for illustrations at the exhibition "Pro Bolonia" in 2000.
Her significant achievement seems to be the fact of choosing her illustrations to be shown on covers of musical students' books for primary schools.
